my capacity to be two-faced is unhealthy
i need to reduce the dissonance between the evaluations i express when confiding in a third party and the evaluations i implicitly or explicitly express to the person themselves
not for the traditional justifications (although those have more going for them than i previously was willing to grant), but rather for my own psychic hygiene
