i don't think i can convince myself of the primacy of the functional when it comes to my private engagement with music

like she's right to an extent and i know that's not exactly what she said but it is effectively

music as augment or aid or subservient or secondary is such a debased role it continually has thrust upon it and it repugnantly takes up
