the constant handwringing of “well under capitalism…” as if that exonerates the proles from playing their part in its perpetuation

ig another way of putting it is that there is a separation between class interest qua class constituent (class in-itself) vs class interest qua class as such (class for-itself) - sure, the conditions of emancipation for proles as class puts them in a revolutionary universalist role, but narrowly
there is no such requirement and, despite appearances, sympathy for their direct woes is basically just picking a pet team in an capital-reproductive internal dispute. the economic anxieties are real but expressions of such are no more revolutionary than capitalist complaints of a tight labor market
