basically, invite-only forum app that most ppl would primarily interact with through one client, with interest of loosely "private" threads, and some moderation qol things. github.com/cblgh/cerca
i think the interesting parts for me are being an allowlist appview, like you could ignore posts unless they were from an approved did, or posts from an approved did prior to them being approved. "banning" a user just looks like dropping all their posts
yea, you can have an app pds and use invites there but you can also have a separate invite thing from patreon or whatever and people on indie pds can apply. anyone can make a thread and your replies are to them, standard stuff.
if you make a "private" thread its already only private to logged in users, so that's basically the same as no-authenticated. committee moderation tools could be varying levels of on and off protocol, but i think it'd be interesting if they were attempted on-protocol, since they're kinda social too.
and yknow, theres not a huuuge upside to using atp here, besides the basics of distinct identity and credible exit things. no sync. you could make splinter apps/clients pretty easily tho, with different or no allowlists. but yea it'd be unfamiliar tech so not realistic, just fun and more compelling
its really the more blurry boundaries between user and moderator that are interesting, plus the limitation of history being a feature with a different invite structure
