one of those people that was so formative it feels disingenuous to say anything that would imply i had an existing evaluative schema i found affinity with in him, it seems rather more likely that my views were significantly forged through exposure
attribution is this domain is largely a fools errand in any case, and yet i want to not undermine his causal significance in my life
it’s funny because there are many many many things both in philosophy and in lifestyle where we diverge, but still he captures something so precious and has such a lovely way of thinking and expressing himself and i carry so much admiration and affection for him
my impression is that trying to get too granular with my differences and especially what things i appreciate is dangerous and destructive, anything less broad than “way of being” feels offensively concrete, and even that expression is disagreeably specific
