part of it is obviously due to the relatively low barrier to entry to making something serviceable in their home genre, but also like there were people pulling off genuinely innovative trickshots that are now just a little lost
the genre conventions just also gave a ton of guardrails and structure to innovate inside of, and without that, it’s understandably disorienting and demanding of a whole host of novel skills that they didn’t have to exercise before
this thread, in other words: i’m still following a lot of artists that put out miss after miss at this point, and can’t help but take pity on the poor little guys. rooting for ya, hope you git gud soon
