sometimes i think windowed mode is optimal because it keeps the font size smaller and you have to move your eyes less, while maintaining the right ratio of text box to cg
i oscillate on whether layered windows or wallpaper is best, i think it can be atmospherically appropriate but also distracting, even if its as minimal as can be
thats why i usually full screen, or approximate it best i can. can't be too picky with running programs on systems they were never designed for
