i meant it though, you are special to me. i don’t know why i chose to emphasize your uniqueness, its not like thats the reason you’re special to me. i know that whole tone of communicating attachment is not desirable or enjoyable for you, and im sorry that i keep doing it that way

it feels weighty and significant to me and i like expressing that, but it’s selfish since i know you’d prefer it phrased indirectly with more levity. i can do that, it just always feels off, my perception of appeasement is going to be awkward and off-base.

minimally, the cognitive distance involved in the translation nullifies the expression in the first place, so maybe it’s all just better left unsaid anyway. which is fine, clearly i can be okay with that too.
