this thought also makes me happy because it's a recognition that there is a long process of socialization/familiarization into a culture/community, and the scaffolding you use to start joining in on the conversation probably has a lot more depth than you're capable of grasping at the start

beyond capability theres also a question of temperament and what scaffolding i'm open to allowing myself to climb, even if just temporarily
