to some extent i think it’s reasonable (even rational? though not Rational) to resist or reject that which is historically progressive
particularly if you are still under the spell of the spirit of the harm principle and like most people nowadays can’t muster a strong defense for domain or agent isolation of harms
not to mention the methodological inadmissibility of prospective applications but tbh i’m tempted to let this slide on grounds of prudence and contextual differences in purpose; truth isn’t always the telos (hence “epistemic” inaptness) and sometimes a predictive just-so story is what is needed
