sliding into dms implies a more immediate sexual tone and idrk about allat but in terms of just making a connection with an interesting person it’s pretty easy to just say whatever and if the other person is interested too there’s not very much pressure for perfection
i’m potentially a little bit of a hypocrite in this regard, but in most cases i don’t really mind parasociality so i’m content with inaction (probably excessively so)
then there are more established relationships that are still figuring out what desirable interaction looks like and there might be some reluctance because of that, but that’s a separate problem
i suppose this is more from the perspective of someone that is usually the person getting approached, so less hypocritical and more just not so practical advice because it’s usually not me doing the approaching but pleasantly surprised when it happens
