okay wow looking at the public engagement on a trivial political issue (the cessation of the minting of the penny and its ramifications) has made me a doomer on public policy
lowkey i almost prefer discussion of established political issues with established partisan talking points because at least then the horrendous critical thinking skills of the american public are not on display
when i say “trivial” i don’t mean procedurally or practically i mean ideologically
