every time i interact with a new API i have less and less sympathy for "backwards compatibility"
sure, don't break your shit every month but at a certain point you have to clean slate and fix that shit
jobland has also radicalized me against backwards compatibility, like the whole thing is just this abhorrent accrual of mistake after mistake
