it’s pathetic how much human effort and ingenuity is funneled into objectively worthless pursuits
objectively (as evaluated from a non-capitalistic standard)
a silly small example but consider the adblocker wars. this serves no person’s real interests. treadmill work on both sides and the whole thing is just depressing and exhausting.
been thinking about Freire lately and while i'm obvi not on board with his foundations, i feel the importance of his notion of dehumanization. i do it at my job all the time - i am dehumanized by my structural position but by being a vector of capital's power i dehumanize those who my work affects.
