oh yea the hostility makes sense for sure, and i’m certainly not of the position that everyone has to defend every proposition at every point. it’s sometimes perfectly appropriate to say “yknow i’ve kinda made up my mind on the whole trans thing” and unplug
the phenomenon i’m mainly targeting here is people saying “i have a take but i don’t want to discourse” where they clearly do have interest and want to engage, but are holding back
