bernard williams was such a bizarre little goober
like he usually has something somewhat valuable (and novel for the time even ?) that can be wrenched from his work but god its such a slog and there's so much nonsense to clear out of the way
i'm kinda cheating tho bc i'm obvi a geuss simp and he yoinked the good shit and helped to clear away the debris. i do think it's funny the variety of forms W's insights can be: like sometimes its a novel concept, sometimes it's just a general impulse. he's always an emotionally complex read
