i use linux mint for similar reasons i use librewolf: i get to free ride on upstream corpo-backed software while someone stands in the middle to tear out most of the gross stuff for me. i like that they lag behind and are relatively feature poor.

this is post-hoc cope btw but it’s a fun just-so story
