yes but i think there’s a pretty big gulf between thinking the way in which one lived one’s life is at least minimally relevant or informative about their philosophy and neglecting artwork’s own objectivity through vulgar psychoanalysis
for me the main thing is the limitations of a given approach in a given context, and if the account is trying to be the last word. in principle i don’t have anything against the existence of psychological readings, given proper placement in broader analysis. in practice tho they’re usually shit lol
