this is an unhinged privilege reaction but as someone who had mooched off my parents and now has top tier healthcare benefits, it’s frankly bewildering being asked to pay for medicine
entitlement aside it’s just genuinely disorienting being put in a position to evaluate a purchase with inelastic demand
even in other areas where you’re buying necessary goods (food, shelter), you can rely on at least a decent degree of possible substitution, but this is kinda just yes/no and it’s weird
