The post below is a reply to another user
presumably part of the reason you care about correcting misinfo is that you think other people might act based upon that understanding and change something, otherwise why bother?
basically im saying it's another bit of wishful thinking to believe that epistemic flaws will lead to ineffectiveness. you can have a lot of impact, good or bad, independent of truth, and frequently it's the case that you can have more influence if you aren't constrained by a commitment to truth
