hm someone had a hyphenated vietnamese name and i referred to them with the full first name but now i see people leaving out the second half. i’m not sure if it’s me or them making the mistake or what they’re actually comfortable with since i don’t work closely with them. should have just used @

to be clear “mistake” is kinda clunky, i just mean in all likelihood they’re prolly chill and are somewhat used to it but it’s still like eye-roll annoying, and
there’s a difference between “yea i tolerate my name being shortened bc it’s easier for the mayo monkeys” and “lol why are you being so formal with my full name it ain’t that deep”
