i'll state my commitments up front: i like geuss. i'm a big adorno guy, but have some reservations about the specific ways he arrives at things sometimes. i want to like the new radical realists, but think they unfortunately stray frequently, especially with the continual epistemic emphasis.

as always with rossi tho i unfortunately have to hand-wring past the headline. don’t love the autonomy as teleology and don’t love the centrality of epistemology in his version of radical realism

this is what i kinda meant here. epistemic rad realism is too flat and one-sided in service of remaining on solid analytical footing, and it suffers for it

so yea, i actually think a critique of the new radical realists, in conversation with adorno and guess, is a great idea (sorry enzo, you are kind of a positivist sometimes). unfortunately it's not that, because he tries to lump geuss in with the new guys.

idk ideology in this sense is just way less interesting because it's just the powerful deluding themselves

enforced and constiutive are such crude and not at all exhaustive ways of getting any understanding of power. how am i supposed to trust you with ideology critique when this is the best you got. "disempowered" is such a narrow starting place

lolllll i do love that scholarship on williams is like: "the BLD requires addressing the FPQ in a way that attends to the CTP, and this demonstrates that politics is a CNP"

as in, we’re humans yea, and we do mean things to animal guys, yea. vicious circularity in justification real likely. but like there’s not a lot to really glean from that, because it’s not just likely or suspect there’s just no alternative. idk maybe paulo will prove me wrong, i imagine ill end up
