the straightforward nominalism of weber and wittgenstein is refreshing relative to the theoretical confusion of analytics but its horribly thin
i really do think there is more space for an enlightened pragmatism to do more, but it would look very strange to pragmatism's typical adherents

still it is shocking how many people feel an affinity between empiricist and pragmatist influences, which obviously can be largely credited to dewey (despite his protests)
