oh nice, great work @esb.lol

at face value this is unrelated but it feels connected for me. i can be extremely stubborn and uncompromising (and resentful of those who i perceive as disruptive), unless there is some overwhelming force of admiration, and even that is usually transient and delicate

every so often i am reminded that i am no nietzschean
The sick are the greatest danger for the healthy; it is not from the strongest that harm comes to the strong, but from the weakest. They who are from the outset botched, oppressed, broken, those are they, the weakest are they, who most undermine the life beneath the feet of man, who instill the most dangerous venom and skepticism into our trust in life, in man, in ourselves. Where does one not encounter that veiled glance which burdens one with a profound sadness, that inward-turned glance of the born failure which betrays how such a man speaks to himself-that glance which is a sigh!

a lot of really interesting tidbits and a lot of all-too-familiar observations, plus plenty i never knew before. it made me laugh so many times because of how frequently absurd it all is
Writing in the 1860s, Sir William Gull noted that the illness occurs in male patients. Around the same time, French physician Ernest-Charles Lasgue incisively described the family dynamics of male patients with anorexia nervosa (Andersen, 2014). These two physicians are also known for giving anorexia nervosa its cumbersome name. In fact, the disease received the name “anorexia nervosa” instead of “anorexia hysterica” because of the existence of male patients who could not be labeled “hysterical” according to medical custom at that time (Silverman, 1990). Over the next 100 years, however, males are almost unmentioned in the literature.
