i'll state my commitments up front: i like geuss. i'm a big adorno guy, but have some reservations about the specific ways he arrives at things sometimes. i want to like the new radical realists, but think they unfortunately stray frequently, especially with the continual epistemic emphasis.

i've made it clear in the past i don't really like williams, and the more williams-inspo the realist, the worse off they are for it

so yea, i actually think a critique of the new radical realists, in conversation with adorno and guess, is a great idea (sorry enzo, you are kind of a positivist sometimes). unfortunately it's not that, because he tries to lump geuss in with the new guys.

lowkey i'm alright with the eevee blog. even tho there's plenty to take issue with in any of the individual statements and the splash of dan olson is zzz, the ethos is chill. i'm largely sympathetic to the attitude it expresses

i wouldn't take it as a global judgement or the final word or anything, and i don't think it's trying to be that (the piece itself, idrc about authorial intent or audience reception). "this annoys me and here's some words." maybe i just like the rambly ventpost blog genre

from the limited exposure to the rest of the things they say, it seems like their politics and social circle aren't really my thing, the arguments used to arrive at conclusions are tired and off-kilter, but it was a fine read. whatever ;)
