it’s regex that will match strings, where the parts in parentheses followed by ? are optional, with the implication that re.match(pattern, willow) is truthy

to lay it out super plainly, these are valid matches: "hrt boy" "hrt fem" "hrt femboy" "hrt "

r’hrt (fem)?(boy)?’

that’s just good accessibility sweetheart :P

you’d be hard pressed to find something that more women had in common!

I FORGOT THE LAMBDA 😭😭😭

i was gonna say that isn't even close to the most unhinged thing you've done LOL

the world will never forget: 'comments': [] if not extractor else [*(extractor().get('comments'))[0]][1:],

oh yea i'm not so much worried about the front-end, i was being a little cryptic before but i'm asking for a program use-case and not as an end-user :3

well yes but then i have to distinguish ahead of time and do the parsing myself to get to the did doc. if other did types pop up over time i would have to update the method to support it

heh i was worried how it would handle did:web and yea it just looks like they check the plc directory github.com/mozzius/inte... if i want a universal solution i think i need to use something like resolver.identity.foundation/1.0/identifi...

this is a dumb question but there’s not a better way to tell if someone is self-hosting their pds besides looking at the service endpoint in their did doc right?

eris i’m not gonna join the KKK

when i was in arkansas i saw a billboard advertising a “Krazy Karnival” and it had a picture of a ghost with a white sheet. super sus lol

i woke up in kasey's bed at 3am and decided it was essential i play around with bsky lists and omfg its so much fun

you've all been added to meow4 btw
def add_follows_to_list():
    session = get_session()
    did = session['did']
    service_endpoint = get_service_endpoint(did)
    lists = get_lists(did)
    display_lists(lists)
    selected_list = select_list(lists)

    follows = get_follows(did)
    for i in range(len(follows)):
        add_user_to_list(session, service_endpoint, selected_list, follows[i]['value']['subject'])

    update_list_metadata(session, service_endpoint, selected_list, name=selected_list['name'], description=f"Last updated {datetime.now(timezone.utc).isoformat().replace("+00:00", "Z")}")

    print()
    _, _, rkey = decompose_uri(selected_list['uri'])
    print(f"All followers successfully added to https://bsky.app/profile/{session.get('handle')}/lists/{rkey}")

also at one point during testing i just created a new list item record for *my own* DID instead of each followers', so i just had a list with myself 200 times 😭

yea go for it, i just had to use it for like one big smelt job but it would be way more useful as an auto smelter

well if you think about it she's actually a public good so we can share in peace! ^_^
economics diagram of rivalry and excludability

i've been wanting to mess around with whitewind for a while but i've been lazy, psky is the obvious choice if we just wanna check the box

as long as one member has created a record that uses a non-normie lexicon we should be legally in the clear

it will be official once we convince hailey to join

i started watching yuru camp as a way to strengthen my parasocial relationship with mary

i’m grinning from ear to ear, you’re my favorite

you’re literally so hot

yeah this was more of my own personal reflection, i do think it’s worth keeping in mind that what you perceive as mistreating others could just be chill and fine lol but again i don’t know your situation super intimately

hahaha ily my answer will be the same as always - virtues are context dependent. some change is generative, some change is a hindrance, and the difference cannot be antecedently determined. although it is certainly correct that comfort is extraordinarily dangerous, and worth skeptical interrogation.

this is the most normie feedback but do you have any thoughts about supporting boring old bsky urls? i know it be against the grain of atproto purity, but selfishly it’s annoying to convert a url to uri when i’m on mobile lol

my default behavior is to be cold and distant so the alternative path to self-improvement is to stick stubbornly to your ways and make it everyone else’s problem if they can’t hang

the above is framed harshly but honestly i don’t think there’s anything with not forcing yourself to feign interest or attention. personally id be more offended if someone humored me like that rather than simply ignoring me

i started using coconut oil a little while ago and it was such a game changer

forgot how atrocious this stuff is for my sleep lol

the summary of my view is that equality is: 1: not philosophically generative, and is at worst incoherent 2: not necessary or useful for “progressive” political goals 3: actively harmful, misleading, and counterproductive when thinking about the social world

basically i think people like to have abstract moral commitments like equality to simplify things and feel like they have some bedrock to stand on. but, as sara’s bruenig article discussed, there is the looming question of “equality of what” as desirable.
1 replies
and by the time one can specify “what” in anything resembling a convincing way, they will have had to pack in a whole bunch of contextually specified criteria.

however, this kind of undermines one of those primary appeals of equality, in the sense that it can no longer be some freestanding moral bedrock. i’m saying we’d be better off ditching the concept altogether, rather than trying to add bells and whistles to keep it afloat.

oh no not at all, i much prefer you share your mind, imo it’s cool that people are extra nice but sometimes it prematurely forecloses interesting convo tbh i was really impressed when you said you were confused before, i feel like most ppl would have just let it go to avoid potential embarrassment

oop sorry i hope i didn’t scare you off, fwiw i think it’d be interesting to listen to you talk theology stuff ^-^

i was gonna post the following but i hope it doesn’t seem overbearing “mhm i getcha, i just tend to think that we can do without it (and would be better off for it, as i see a rather great danger in abuse of appeals to concepts such as these for achieving political goals directly)”
raymond geuss, philosophy and real politics.

most of this section is summarizing the marx/engels stuff above (humorously, both zoe baker and cuck philosophy made videos summarizing these few pages of geuss as well).
