follow for my upcoming rants against equality, social justice, freedom, and democracy

i’m just more woke than the rest of you, sorry for believing in the autonomy of the oppressed

things like “safe spaces” are discriminatory segregation, and they are all the better for it. using morally thick language is a neat trick to smuggle normative baggage into a term that can be descriptively accurate

i phrased it intentionally

some instances of segregation are fine actually

“composable moderation” is only objectionable when the phrase is used to obscure the difference in power between components

i was gonna write a blog post in response but really it’s just i think: - you’re basically on the right track - you should go one step further and drop the centrality of morality talk altogether - there are a multitude of sources and forms of normativity and evaluation at our disposal, and

it’s more generative to reference them directly rather than cloud them in the language of traditional ethics - if you’re in the mood to read, “Nietzsche and Morality” by Raymond Geuss is good ("Outside Ethics" the book is also obvi relevant, but that essay is a bit less indirect)

you can also listen to some shitta read it out loud if you prefer ;) www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMm3... he yaps abt nietzsche more than is strictly necessary for the point, but part of geuss' style is to "show not tell"

the educational system is the handmaiden and beneficiary of the white magic of rights. the university too must be destroyed, etc.

the world is currently bad, and creates individuals who have a distorted perception of happiness. what happiness they do have is conditioned by the world as it exists, which should give us reason to be skeptical/critical of this happiness

that’s an awkward simplification but it gives you a first impression

i think i’d agree with you on rights, but i’d just ditch the ethics too :)

- there are different logical systems, so what counts as logical depends with your system already - i don’t like rights at all, juridical or moral, regardless of species

fwiw i’m basically saying the opposite of “just let people be happy dude”

The chances are that every citizen of the wrong world would find the right one unbearable; he would be too impaired for it. To the consciousness of intellectuals who do not sympathize with the world spirit, this should add a dash of tolerance amidst their resistance. If a man will not be stopped from differing and criticizing, he is still not free to put himself in the right. Throughout the world, of course, no matter under which political system, such added indulgence would be ostracized is decadent. The aporia extends to the teleological concept of a happiness of mankind that would be the happiness of individuals; the fixation of one's own need and one's own longing mars the idea of a happiness that will not arise until the category of the individual ceases to be self-seclusive. Happiness is not invariant; to be always the same is the essence of unhappiness alone.
From the start, whatever happiness is intermittently tolerated or granted by the existing entirety bears the marks of its own particularity. 4 To this day, all happiness is a pledge of what has not yet been, and the belief in its imminence obstructs its becoming.
