although you're right in a way, part of my perceived increase in aversity to conflict is due to increased exposure to disagreements that don't amount to more than gripes between those veiled by the same ideological hypostatizations that i have no interest in engaging with

but even accounting for this, it seems like i'm silently and desperately clinging to a "think happy thoughts" mentality

i mean conflict in a much broader sense, barely any of which pertains to direct interpersonal dispute

the rampant misunderstandings of marx can largely be attributed to the common impoverished conception of normativity. marx as applied ethicist is a poor etiolated thing and easily dismissible. many pollute their thinking by imposing a public/private dichotomy as prerequisite for normative validity

i also think this comes from people simply not reading in general and being historically uninformed. the most common objections to marx are actually objections to to pre-marxist radicals and even liberals! even self-proclaimed marxists are often unknowingly just john stuart mill fans

this is why nietzscheans make for much more clear-headed marxists btw

also why i heavily dislike some in the radical realist literature for emphasizing a “distinctly political normativity”. like lol yeah sure bud, and there’s also a distinct type of normativity for anything you can imagine. don’t make it seem like Morality and Politics are the only two games in town
